ABOUT SHEDS INDIA
SHEDS India is the Community Care and Socio-Economic Development Wing of Cloud Nine Ministries, committed to empowering underprivileged individuals and families through skill development, livelihood generation, and community transformation.
Inspired by the biblical model of self-reliance and servant leadership, SHEDS India believes that sustainable change begins when people are equipped with practical skills, meaningful opportunities, and the confidence to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
Since its inception, SHEDS has been working alongside churches and local communities to nurture self-sufficiency while reflecting the love and compassion of Jesus Christ through practical service.
OUR BIBLICAL FOUNDATION
The vision of SHEDS India finds its inspiration in the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul.
While faithfully proclaiming the Gospel, Paul also worked as a tentmaker alongside Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:1–3), demonstrating that ministry and meaningful work can complement one another. His example established timeless biblical principles for Christian service:
- To provide for the needs of the ministry and those serving in it. (Acts 20:34)
- To avoid placing unnecessary financial burdens upon others. (1 Thessalonians 2:9)
- To leave a model of diligence, integrity, and faithful stewardship for future generations. (2 Thessalonians 3:8–9)
As Bible commentators such as Adam Clarke and John Wesley observed, the Jewish tradition encouraged every individual to learn a practical trade, regardless of wealth or social standing. SHEDS embraces this same principle by equipping people with skills that foster dignity, responsibility, and long-term sustainability.
OUR BEGINNING
In 2010, as Cloud Nine Ministries witnessed the growing involvement of underprivileged communities within its churches and outreach programs, Pastor Prachiranjan Das recognized the need to address not only spiritual growth but also economic well-being.
Drawing upon his professional experience and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers and skilled trainers, he established SHEDS India to provide practical vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities for economically disadvantaged individuals.
The vision was simple yet powerful:
Equip people with practical skills, create sustainable livelihoods, strengthen families, and enable communities to flourish while advancing God’s Kingdom.
WHAT WE DO
Today, SHEDS India provides practical training across a variety of livelihood and skill-development programs.
Household & Hygiene Products
Professional training in the manufacturing of:
Toilet Cleaners | Floor Cleaners | Dish Wash Liquids | Fabric Conditioners | Fabric Whiteners
Food Processing & Small-Scale Entrepreneurship
Training participants in producing quality food products such as:
- Traditional Mixture | Potato Chips | Bhujia
- Protein Powder Mixes made from pulses and lentils
- Tomato Sauce | Chilli Sauce
These initiatives enable individuals and families to establish sustainable home-based enterprises and generate independent income.
Digital Skills & Creative Media
Recognizing the growing importance of digital literacy, SHEDS India also equips young people with valuable technical skills, including:
- Basic Computer Education | Desktop Publishing
- Audio Editing | Video Editing
- Digital Media Production | Creative Design Tools
These programs prepare participants for employment opportunities and creative entrepreneurship in today’s digital world.
